PinkCauses: A GivStory by Jay Adams

A GivStory by Jay Adams | Founder of PinkCauses.com
My mother-in-law was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2001, underwent treatment, and I am fortunate to say is currently in remission. That same year my wife and I were blessed with our first child, a beautiful girl. As a physician, I was aware that the probability of my wife developing breast cancer was now doubled and that my daughter also faced an increased chance of suffering from this dreaded disease.
Fast forward eight years, it is now 2009, the ladies (and gentlemen) in my life are all healthy but approximately 1.5 million women have since been diagnosed and more than 300,000 families have been devastated by lose as a result of breast cancer. During this time, my wife and I have donated to a variety of charities and participated in the usual events to raise funds for the cure.
In an effort to do more we have created PinkCauses.com, a shopping portal that allows anyone and everyone to lend support to the breast cancer organization of their choice with every purchase. Breast cancer supporters simply make an online purchase from any of our 500+ top-name retailers and 100% of the posted rebate is directed to the “Pink Cause” they choose.
Although there are other websites that offer shopping rebates, as far as we are aware, PinkCauses.com is the only one totally dedicated to raising breast cancer awareness and finding a cure!
